Nothing quite defines British culture like football (soccer for us Americans). Brits are serious about the sport, everyone has "their" team. With great football stars, come great wives, which British tabloids have made no qualms in exploiting. WAGs as they are called, "wives and girlfriends," find themselves in the press daily, but they often turn to appreciate the 'love' and milk what they've got. WAGs are outright celebrities themselves and come to be identified as slightly different versions of one another. They are usually surrounded by scandal, driven in chauffeured Bentleys, dressed in the hottest couture, and visit the most exotic destinations.

While Cheryl Cole is technically no longer a WAG, she will always be loved by the British people. The lead singer of Birtish pop band Girls Aloud married Chelsea star Ashely Cole in 2006 and they were destined to be the next Posh & Becks. But, after cheating allegations they divorced in 2010. Cheryl was a UK X Factor judge before Simon Cowell swooped her up to be the US X Factor judge - before quickly firing her. She now is hitting the US by storm and resides in LA! I LOVE Cheryl!!!
Besides Victoria & Cheryl, Coleen Rooney is probably the most famous WAG in Britain. You can't pickup a British tabloid without seeing her! The 25 year old is married to her high school sweetheart Wayne Rooney, star of Manchester United. Despite Wayne previously soliciting prostitutes, "Wayleen" have been married since 2008 and have a son, Kai, who has his own custom Bentley carseat. But then again, who doesn't have a custom carseat? Coleen is adored by fans, especially for her more realistic figure and for her entrepreneurial ventures. Since becoming a WAG, she has amassed her own fortune worth over £8 million.
This past June, Abbey Clancy recently married Peter Crouch. The lingerie and catwalk model, television presenter, and mother is regularly considered one of the 'hottest' WAGs around. She is definitely one to watch.
Move over Posh. Claudine Keane's the new girl in town. She has just arrived in the States as her husband, Robbie Keane, gears up for his contract with the LA Galaxy. They met over 10 years ago when she was 18 studying at Dublin's University College. The Irish beauty is considered one of the most down to earth WAGs and smartest - with a degree in finance and economics.
Former nail technician Alex met Steven Gerrard (her current husband) in 2002. The Liverpool player's wife is often considered a leading WAG or an über-WAG. The 29 year old is pregnant with the couple's 3rd child and can be seen regularly driving around London in her black Bentley convertible.
