Springish shopping

Spending the day shopping. WOOO. Even though it is the last thing I need to be doing... I keep it pretty casual around the 'burbs. Found this fun vintage belt of my mom's today that I just had to break in! Love me some Native American influence. I changed up my arm party a bit today - usually not into so much silver but I'm feeling it. Couldn't resist these new Tory Burch wedges. And duhh can't go a day without some animal influence, hello yellow python tote. I'm currently sitting in Neimans so I figured I'd try out the Blogger app on my trusty Droid. I kind of like this "blogging on the go" lifestyle even though the app added squares to my pictures and won't let me center them. But whateva I can handle a few kinks. Hope yall are having a fabulous Monday! xxx

Topshop find. MAJOR sale.

Leopard denim & fox ring.

I've been rockin the braid. A LOT.

I eat candied fruits galore.

I spy mad Louboutins on the tube.

Home Is Where The Heart Is

I realized I sort of failed to mention a milestone: last Friday was my last day EVER of classes at LSE. Yep, after what seems like 11 weeks of nonstop work I finished Lent Term and am now sitting pretty on a 5 week spring break. Very last minute (on Friday) I decided I needed to come home for a little R & R. So Monday I hopped on a flight and now here I am! It has been sooooo good to be home. Home cooked meals and unreal temperatures (80s) have meant ultimate relaxation. Although, I've got to start studying for exams (yuck!). In April I am headed to Spain, Morocco, and Scotland for the rest of my break. Then 2 weeks of revision before finals.... AHHHH! It is all coming to an end. I am so glad I am able to spend some quality time with my parents (and pups) before chaos hits.

The Saatchi + Duke of York Square

Ready to get arted out?! Well it was hard narrowing down my favorite pieces from the Saatchi so I included quite a few! I LOVED the Saatchi and the German exhibit was soooo diverse. There was so much to see! It is 3 floors of the best contemporary art you can find (oh and they have an adorable cafe!). Yesterday I read a really interesting article on Charles Saatchi. The namesake of the gallery and infamous recluse is quite intelligent and I am dying to get his book Be The Worst You Can Be: Life's Too Long for Patience & Virtue. Here is the article.

Of course another reason I love the Saatchi is because it is in Chelsea. Being in Chelsea just adds another cool factor. More specifically it is in Duke of York Square. They have this fantastic little food market on the weekends with everything from Pad Thai to artisan breads to paninis! Children are frolicking, couples are courting... it is just full of happiness!

Olivia Palermo & Johannes Huebl Take A Break At Paris Fashion Week

Ohh I've been so so bad recently and I keep saying I'm going to get better! Stupid escuela is taking over my life. BUT now I am on 5 weeks spring break! WOOOO! Well it is really meant for 'revision' but I don't know how much revising I will actually get done...

MEGA GIRL CRUSH ALERT! Olivia Palermo.
OK that is nothing new. She can do no wrong. She is LITERALLY PERFECTION.
Her little romantic stroll in the City of LOVE with her gorge model boyfriend is adorable. Makes me reconsider the whole boyfriend thing. Ehhh who are we kidding, no it doesn't. Single girls rule.
But if this doesn't make your heart swoon then I don't know what will! Enjoy the teaser.

Goodbye London Winter

Whelp, now that its been sunny and 60 for a few solid days I think its time to say goodbye the brutal winter I just endured. HAHA. It has been nothing compared to Chicago, but still I'm ready for some bare legs! and a scarf-less neck! and some green foliage!

Banging on Brick Lane

I've always had a passion for style and design, but London's creative spirit has instilled in me a newfound interest in modern art, so I recently checked out Whitechapel Gallery with Mariel. The Rothko exhibit was unbelievable and took me right back to 1961. Although I prefer the Saatchi (post coming soon), Whitechapel's unique grittiness was captivating and totally screamed East London.
Better yet, Brick Lane is just around the corner, so naturally I dragged Mariel around Banglatown. It is the perfect mix of international flavor and London eclecticism. The first half is taken over by curry houses galore. The heckling by managers to sway you to their eatery is a bit overwhelming - but hey, they almost all offer free drinks! Mariel and I gave in and had a sampling of some authentic Indian dishes. SPICY! That meant we were too full to indulge at the famous Brick Lane Beigel (but I don't think BLB would pass a health inspection anyways - so I was kind of relieved).
As we headed further down Brick Lane the curry houses were replaced by vintage shops and spunky boutiques. We spent upwards of an hour exploring The Tea Rooms, a cozy indoor market with an eclectic community to match. Between the barber, psychic, and barista there were tons of gems hidden in there - vintage Cartier purses, art deco jewelry, and fur coats. We were tripping on cats, knocking over china and hitting our heads on artwork but we couldn't get enough of it! The expansive record collection was eye-opening (I know nothing about music/records but I got lost looking at them all!) and we got a few for my dad. We also stumbled upon this awesome screen printing studio and gallery called Print Club London. Wasn't too pricey and had some of the coolest prints I've seen, hoping to get a few for my house senior year. The rest of the night was spent frolicking around East London, enjoying lots of visual and oratory stimulation!
